A Lenten Contemplative Book Study 2025 Beholding: Deepening Your Experience in God by Strahan Coleman 4 Tuesdays, March 11, 18, 25 April 1 10:00 AM - 11:30 PM (Please plan to attend all sessions, if possible, to build community) This book is an invitation to a God-soaked life. Prayer isn’t meant to be just another transaction in the busy consumer-saturated world we live in, but a place of holy union, a deeply satisfying communion of receiving and returning the loving gaze of our Maker. Beholding is an invitation to that life. Not only praying to God or working for God but living in and with God in our everyday ordinary moments, enchanting our entire lives. Discover the beauty, wonder, and stillness of a life of friendship and unceasing prayer with God and see how learning to behold and be beheld by God may just spark the transformational movement for which these times are crying. We will read about forty-five pages a week, taking notes, marking up the margins! When we gather in our contemplative setting with some music and quiet listening, we will share what we are learning, what God is showing us, what makes sense and what doesn’t. Led by: The Rev. Catherine Powell, D. Min., Founding Servant Leader, The Anchorage, who earned degrees from the University of Florida, Erskine Theological Seminary and Lutheran Theological Seminary at Philadelphia (LTSP). Her formation also includes the Spiritual Guidance Program of The Shalem Institute, the 30-day Spiritual Exercises of St. Ignatius as well as training at the Jesuit Center, Wernersville, PA to lead 8-day Ignatian Retreats. She was ordained in 1999 and delights in family, friends, music, learning and nature. Her greatest sense of call is to one-on-one spiritual direction both monthly and during retreats. Her deepest passion is for everyone to know how much they are loved by our holy and gracious God. Click here to learn more about the 2025 Lenten Book Study.
