DESERT DAYS First Fridays in even months The Desert Days series is about listening for God’s leading. The main point of the day is to spend time in quiet with our holy and loving God. Within the unhurried rhythm of the day, find a place that nurtures your soul, maybe outside, with as few distractions as possible, and just “be.” Sense God within you; respond with your heart. It seems God also delights in having uninterrupted time with each person, to have our faces turned toward this One who loves. February is led by Robert Miles, retired Lutheran parish pastor, who served churches in SC from 1980 to 2019. He also recently participated in the spiritual direction program at LTSS. His undergraduate degree is in English from Davidson College, and his seminary was LTSS. Robert served as Chair of The Anchorage Servant Leaders in the past and is currently living in Clemson. April is led by Rev. Dr. Miyoung Paik, retired United Methodist pastor and an artist. She loves to sit in her backyard, sings with the Lexington County Choral Society and wishes to paint more. She has just returned from serving on the pastoral staff at the American Church in Paris. She applied and was granted the position for a year. The main function being to perform weddings and lead worship. June is led by David and Susan Rice. They served in international missions with Cru from 1991-2016 in Eastern Europe and more recently with the Antioch Partners in the UK. They are currently based in Greenville with the Antioch Partners, providing missionary care for nationals and Americans serving globally. Susan's passion is to create space for others to experience the depths of God’s love, while David enjoys soul friendship and exploring pilgrimage as an inner and outer journey of encounter with God.
